A 23-year-old man died Wednesday afternoon after being trapped under heavy equipment at a workplace in Ottawa’s south end, according to Ottawa police.
Emergency crews responded to the scene on Barnsdale Road, near Highway 416, at approximately 12:30 p.m., according to a report from CBC News. The incident took place at Lanthier Top Soil, the report said, citing Ontario’s Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development.
Marc-Antoine Deschamps, a spokesperson for the Ottawa Paramedic Service, said the incident involved a truck bin. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
