Nominations are now open for Ottawa’s 2026 Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards, a program recognizing business owners born outside Canada who have built companies in the city. The awards are organized by TiE Ottawa, a local network that supports entrepreneurs, in partnership with the City of Ottawa.
The program highlights the contributions immigrant entrepreneurs make to Ottawa’s economy, from launching new ventures to growing established companies that create jobs and business opportunities across the city.
Two Award Categories
This year’s program includes two categories. The Immigrant Entrepreneur Award recognizes established immigrant business owners whose achievements have helped strengthen Ottawa’s economy and its entrepreneurial community. The Youth Immigrant Entrepreneur Award is aimed at younger business leaders aged 29 and under who are building successful companies and showing potential as future leaders in the local business scene.
How to Submit a Nomination
Members of the public can nominate an immigrant entrepreneur they believe is making a positive impact on Ottawa’s business community. The nomination window closes on Thursday, October 8. Full eligibility requirements and submission details are available through TiE Ottawa, and questions about the program can be directed to the organization by email.
Winners will be honoured at an awards ceremony scheduled for Friday, October 30. The event is being held as part of the City of Ottawa’s ongoing efforts to support and celebrate entrepreneurship within the city’s immigrant community.
