Three Canadian mining companies announced on September 14, 2026, that their flagship projects have been chosen for inclusion in the prospectus of the inaugural Canada Investment Summit, a two-day event held in Toronto on September 14-15, 2026, aimed at drawing large-scale institutional capital into the country.
The Summit is hosted by Prime Minister Mark Carney in partnership with Canada’s two largest pension investors, the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) and the Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments). Organizers describe it as a first-of-its-kind gathering bringing together major global investors, Canadian business leaders and public sector representatives to discuss long-horizon capital and commercial opportunities. The event forms part of a broader federal push to strengthen Canada’s investment climate, diversify trade, and attract roughly $1 trillion in new investment over the next five years, with critical minerals identified as a central focus of that agenda.
Western Copper and Gold’s Casino Project in the Yukon
Western Copper and Gold Corporation (TSX: WRN; NYSE American: WRN) said its Casino Project, a copper-gold development in the Yukon, was selected for the Summit prospectus. The company described Casino as Canada’s premier copper-gold mine project and one of the more economic greenfield copper-gold developments globally.
Sandeep Singh, President and CEO of Western, said the federal government’s focus on responsible resource development aligns with the current moment, and that the company was proud of the recognition placing Casino among the country’s most significant development projects. Western said it continues to work with First Nations and local communities on the project using internationally recognized responsible mining practices.

Northcliff’s Sisson Project and NexGold’s Goldboro Mine
Northcliff Resources Ltd. (TSX: NCF) announced that its Sisson Tungsten-Molybdenum Project in New Brunswick was also included in the prospectus. President and CEO Andrew Ing said he was pleased to showcase the project alongside representatives of New Brunswick to Summit investors. The company recently released an updated feasibility study for an open-pit mine and processing facility that would produce tungsten and molybdenum concentrates, both designated as critical minerals. Northcliff noted the project has secured key environmental approvals and has been referred to the Canadian Major Projects Office as a Nation Building Project. The company said it is targeting a construction decision in the latter part of 2027, with operations anticipated to begin in 2030. Ing said the proposed mine, located near tidewater in New Brunswick, could support a 27-year mine life and generate long-term economic activity and jobs at the local, regional and national levels.
NexGold Mining Corp. (TSXV: NEXG; OTCQX: NXGCF) said its fully permitted Goldboro Gold Project in Nova Scotia was likewise selected for the prospectus. President, CEO and Director Kevin Bullock called the inclusion a testament to both the quality of the project and the work of the company’s team in building relationships with local communities and First Nations. According to the company, Goldboro’s 2022 mineral resource estimate contains approximately 2.58 million ounces of gold within 21.6 million tonnes of ore grading 3.72 grams per tonne. NexGold’s feasibility study projects an approximate 11-year mine life with average annual production of about 100,000 ounces of gold in its initial years. The company said it is evaluating a potential construction decision for the project, currently anticipated in 2026.
What the Selections Signal
All three companies characterized their inclusion in the Summit prospectus as a signal of investor interest in Canadian critical mineral and gold assets amid the government’s stated goal of accelerating major project investment nationally. Each company’s respective release emphasized ongoing engagement with First Nations, Indigenous groups and local communities as part of advancing their projects toward development or construction decisions.
