Canadian Premium Sand Inc. (TSXV: CPS) said it is taking part in the inaugural Canada Investment Summit, a two-day event hosted by Prime Minister Mark Carney in Toronto on September 14 and 15, 2026, that is aimed at attracting institutional capital to Canadian projects.
The Calgary-based company, which trades on the TSX Venture Exchange, said its proposed vertically integrated float glass manufacturing facility in Selkirk, Manitoba will be included in the Summit’s prospectus, a document distributed to all participants at the event. The facility, which CPS describes as capable of producing 600 tonnes of float glass per day, would draw on the company’s wholly owned low-iron silica sand resource.
A Pitch to Global Investors
CPS said the Summit gives it a chance to engage with institutional investors from around the world, including large international investors, sovereign wealth funds and private equity firms, as well as public capital sources. According to the company, the event is part of the federal government’s broader push to catalyze $1 trillion in total investment across Canada over the next five years, with an emphasis on expanding domestic manufacturing, creating long-term jobs and strengthening Canadian supply chains.
Glenn Leroux, President and CEO of CPS, said the company is honoured to be included in the Summit’s prospectus. He said Canada currently relies entirely on imported float glass to support an industry valued at $2 billion and roughly 30,000 jobs, and argued that the company’s proposed project could reduce that reliance by giving the country a domestic supply of high-quality glass. Leroux also pointed to the company’s Indigenous and local community partnerships, its ownership of the silica resource, and its permitted status as factors supporting the project’s potential.

The project has also been included in the Manitoba Deal Book, a list of investment opportunities promoted at the Summit by Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew. Organizers say the Summit, held in partnership with the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and the Public Sector Pension Investment Board, is structured as a practical forum focused on long-horizon capital and commercial opportunities that strengthen economic growth and resilience.
Broader Strategic Review Underway
Separately, on September 15, CPS said it is participating in a roundtable on critical minerals hosted by Dentons and Invest in Alberta, in association with the Province of Manitoba. The roundtable is intended to explore how critical minerals projects can attract financing.
The Selkirk facility emerged as one of the development options identified through a strategic review the company announced earlier this year. CPS said there is currently no float glass manufacturing in Canada, making the proposed project central to establishing domestic production independent of U.S. imports. The company said it is working to secure sufficient offtake agreements with Canadian customers to support financing for the project.
Canadian Premium Sand is developing its Wanipigow silica sand resource in Manitoba, which it says can supply high-purity, low-iron silica sand for float glass and solar glass manufacturing, fracture proppant for use in the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, and other industrial applications. The company is a reporting issuer in Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia.
