Editorial Policy
Sourcing
Every story we publish is written in our own words, from real, verifiable reporting and public sources — never copied or lightly reworded from another outlet, and never a repackaged press release presented as news. Where we draw on another publisher’s reporting, we credit and link to it clearly at the bottom of the article.
We do not publish a fact, figure, quote, or claim we can’t trace to a real source. When the available reporting is too thin, too dated, or conflicts on an important detail, we hold the story rather than guess or fill the gap with speculation.
Independence
Our reporting isn’t influenced by advertisers, sponsors, or the companies we cover. Coverage decisions are based on what matters to Canadian business readers, not on who’s asking for coverage.
Financial content
Articles in our Finance, Investment, Stock Market, and Personal Finance sections report what happened and what named sources or analysts said — they are never framed as advice or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold. Any analyst opinion or price target we mention is clearly attributed as that analyst’s own view, not our recommendation. These sections carry a standing disclaimer: nothing we publish is financial, investment, or legal advice, and readers should consult a licensed advisor before making investment decisions.
Corrections
We get things wrong sometimes, and when we do, we fix them. If you believe something we’ve published is inaccurate, tell us at our Contact page with the article link and what you believe is wrong — we’ll look into it and correct genuine errors as quickly as we can. A material correction is noted on the article itself.
