The 2027 schedule has not been published yet. The Government of Canada usually releases next year’s dates late in the year; this page updates automatically when it does.
Payments are issued on the dates listed but can take a few days to arrive; mailed cheques take longer than direct deposit. The Government of Canada asks you to wait 5 to 10 business days before contacting the program about a missing payment.

What to know about CPP payments
CPP and Old Age Security are paid on the same day each month, so most retirees see both deposits land together.
Your own amount depends on when you start your pension, how long you contributed and how much you earned; very few people receive the maximum.
Will CPP go up?
CPP benefits are increased once a year, each January, using the Consumer Price Index so payments keep up with the cost of living. For 2026, CPP benefits rose 2.0%.
The increase is set in the Canada Pension Plan legislation, so you don't need to apply for it.

When to start your CPP pension
The standard age to start CPP is 65, but you can start as early as 60 or as late as 70. When you start permanently changes the size of every payment:
- Starting before 65: payments drop 0.6% for each month before your 65th birthday (7.2% a year), up to a 36% reduction at 60.
- Starting after 65: payments rise 0.7% for each month you wait (8.4% a year), up to 42% more at 70.
- Waiting past 70 gains nothing: the maximum monthly amount is reached at 70.
If you apply after turning 65, you can ask for a retroactive start date up to 11 months before the month your application is received, but no earlier than the month after your 65th birthday. If you are under 70 and still working while receiving CPP, you can keep contributing to increase your pension.

CPP survivor's pension
When a CPP contributor dies, their legal spouse or common-law partner may qualify for the CPP survivor's pension, a monthly payment. Under CPP rules, a common-law partner is someone who lived with the contributor in a conjugal relationship for at least one year. A separated legal spouse may qualify if the contributor had no common-law partner.
The amount is based on what the contributor's retirement pension was, or would have been at 65, and on the survivor's age. Apply as soon as possible after the death: CPP only pays up to 12 months of back payments. A CPP death benefit and benefits for children under 25 may also be available.
