A Brampton religious organization has been fined $10,000 by the federal government after failing to provide documents requested during a compliance review tied to Canada’s Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP).
According to federal records, Sri Bhuvaneswari Hindu Temple Canada Inc, located at 230 Wilkinson Road in Brampton, was found to have violated Section 209.4(1)(b) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations. Federal authorities said the employer did not supply documentation requested by an inspector during the review.
The final decision was issued on September 28 and was recently posted to the Government of Canada’s website, where details of non-compliant employers under the program are published.
How the Program Works
The Temporary Foreign Worker Program permits Canadian employers to hire foreign workers in cases where qualified Canadian citizens or permanent residents cannot be found to fill labour shortages. Employers participating in the program are subject to inspections and must maintain records and cooperate with compliance reviews.
The federal government publishes the results of these compliance reviews to maintain transparency and oversight of employer participation in the program. Penalties for violations can include monetary fines, bans on hiring through the program, or both, depending on the severity of the offence.

Temple Remains Eligible
Despite the finding, the temple’s status in the federal registry remains listed as “Eligible,” meaning it has not been barred from continuing to participate in the Temporary Foreign Worker Program.
The case has now been added to the federal registry of non-compliant employers following the decision reached under the September 2026 review process.
