Happy Belly Food Group Inc. (CSE: HBFG) (OTCQB: HBFGF) has opened the 54th location of its Heal Wellness quick-service restaurant brand, with a grand opening on October 17, 2026, at 151 Crowfoot Terrace NW in Calgary, Alberta. Heal Wellness specializes in smoothie bowls, açaí bowls and smoothies, and the new outlet expands the brand’s footprint in one of northwest Calgary’s major retail and commercial areas.
Crowfoot serves Calgary’s growing northwest communities, combining established residential neighbourhoods with a regional shopping centre, CTrain access, and a mix of national retailers, restaurants and professional services. According to the company, the area’s household incomes, daily foot traffic and year-round consumer activity make it well suited to Heal’s wellness-focused menu, which the company says is aimed at families, commuters, students and shoppers.
Alberta Expansion Strategy
Sean Black, Chief Executive Officer of Happy Belly, said the Crowfoot opening reflects the company’s continued expansion across Alberta and what he described as a disciplined approach to organic growth. He said the neighbourhood’s residential base and active retail environment made it a strong fit for the brand.
Black said Alberta remains an important growth market for Heal as the company works to secure additional locations across Western Canada, adding that the Crowfoot opening reflects the company’s approach of matching the brand to communities it views as having strong demographic alignment and potential for long-term customer relationships.

Franchise Growth Across Canada and the US
Heal Wellness is part of Happy Belly’s broader portfolio of emerging restaurant brands, which the company says it is acquiring and scaling across Canada. The brand is continuing to expand both domestically and into the United States, with growth built on new franchise partnerships as well as continued investment from existing operators. The company says this is supported by brand-specific operating expertise and a platform intended to help franchisees expand across multiple locations and restaurant concepts.
Black said the company intends to keep expanding, stating the Crowfoot opening is part of an ongoing growth push rather than a final step.
