Kismet Estate Winery in Oliver, B.C., has opened a new overnight accommodation development called Roop Nivas, giving guests the option to stay on the property rather than just visiting for tastings or meals.
The winery, owned by the Dhaliwal family, says the development includes 10 private guest suites and an 11-bedroom estate house, both set among the vineyards and located near the winery’s tasting room and its Manzil Restaurant. The facilities are named after the family’s late grandfather, Jagroop, known as Roop.
New Suites and Estate House
Each of the 10 guest suites accommodates two people and includes a king or queen bed, a private patio or balcony, a bathroom and in-room amenities. Every stay in a suite comes with a bottle of Kismet wine included.
The 11-bedroom estate house can hold up to 24 guests, giving the winery an on-site option for groups such as wedding parties, family gatherings, retreats and corporate events. Combined, the suites and estate house allow larger groups to stay across the property while spending time together at Kismet.

Hospitality as a Business Strategy
General manager Neelam Dhaliwal said in a press release that the family has long seen hospitality as central to the winery’s identity, noting that guests have historically come to taste wine, dine at Manzil, celebrate occasions and spend time with the family. She said Roop Nivas is meant to extend that experience beyond a few hours, giving visitors the chance to settle into the property for longer stays. She added that naming the development after her grandfather gave the project personal significance for the family.
By adding overnight lodging, Kismet is positioning itself to capture business beyond day visits, including multi-day stays tied to weddings, retreats and private celebrations held on-site.
