CLEAResult Québec, a subsidiary of Canada’s largest energy efficiency services provider, has acquired Groupe Marketing International (GMI), a Laval-based customer care and operations firm, the companies announced September 15, 2026. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition formalizes a partnership between the two companies that began in 2025, when CLEAResult established a formal presence in Québec. GMI, founded in 1998, provides contact centre operations, rebate processing, program administration, and field service scheduling for utilities, governments, and businesses in the province.
Why the Deal Is Happening Now
Québec’s energy efficiency market is growing as the province works to reduce energy consumption, address affordability, and prepare its electrical grid for increased electrification. By acquiring GMI, CLEAResult gains established client relationships and local operational capacity in a market it had only recently entered directly.
CLEAResult Canada, headquartered in Toronto, has operated since 1988 and serves clients across nine provinces and three territories.

What Happens to GMI’s Operations
According to the companies, GMI’s team and existing client relationships will remain in place following the acquisition. GMI founder and president Micheline Durocher said the company’s team, client relationships, and commitment to results in the Québec market are unchanged under the new ownership.
Ehsan Dibaji, president of CLEAResult Canada, said the acquisition strengthens the company’s national presence by adding proven operational capabilities, established client relationships, and a team familiar with delivering results in Québec’s market.
A Sign of Broader Consolidation
The deal is described as part of a broader pattern of consolidation in the energy efficiency sector, in which national providers acquire regional specialists to secure local expertise. This trend comes as demand grows for services supporting electrification and grid readiness across Canada, including in Québec’s bilingual and highly regulated market.
