Moose Jaw Co-op Celebrates Grand Opening of New Building Centre

Moose Jaw Co-op has officially opened a new Building Centre at 1625 Caribou Street West, expanding its offerings for local residents, businesses and contractors working on construction and renovation projects.

The grand opening was marked with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 26, which drew visitors for tours of the new facility along with a barbecue lunch. Moose Jaw Co-op confirmed the opening in a social media post on Oct. 1, stating that the team is ready to assist customers with building supplies, services and local support.

A New Hub for Building Supplies

The Building Centre falls under Moose Jaw Co-op’s Home & Building Solutions division, which serves a wide range of projects including decks, home renovations, garages, farm shops, sheds and barns. According to the Co-op’s website, the centre stocks products such as roofing materials, insulation, windows, doors, tools, fasteners and fencing.

Beyond retail supplies, the centre also offers services designed to support customers through the full scope of a building project. These include project planning, help calculating required materials, local delivery, and guidance on layout, design and budgeting. Customers looking for a more streamlined option can also choose from custom or ready-to-use building packages.

Local Leaders Mark the Milestone

Moose Jaw Mayor James Murdock attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside Co-op employees, visitors and other local dignitaries. In an online post following the event, Murdock called the new Building Centre a significant investment in the city and pointed to the Co-op’s broader role in the community.

He noted that Moose Jaw Co-op has long supported local organizations, events and initiatives throughout the city, and described the new facility as further evidence of that ongoing commitment. Murdock also congratulated the Co-op team and wished them success in the new location.

The Moose Jaw & District Chamber of Commerce, of which Moose Jaw Co-op is a member, also welcomed the opening, calling the new Building Centre an exciting addition to the community.

Community Partners and Staff Recognized

In its Oct. 1 post, Moose Jaw Co-op thanked several organizations that took part in the grand opening event, including the Moose Jaw Humane Society, Country 100, Milwaukee Tool and Makita, along with the dignitaries who attended.

The Co-op also recognized its employees for their work preparing the opening event and readying the new facility for customers, thanking both the broader Moose Jaw Co-op team and the Building Centre staff for their contributions to what the company called a new chapter for the business.
