Air Liquide Canada, a division of Airgas, has acquired the assets of Oxygène Millénair, a Quebec-based distributor of industrial gases and welding supplies. The deal expands Air Liquide Canada’s local footprint in and around Joliette, Que.
Oxygène Millénair has long served regional customers in the metal fabrication, construction, automotive and education sectors, supplying gases and welding equipment through its local distribution network. As part of the acquisition, Air Liquide Canada has brought on eight Oxygène Millénair employees to help maintain service continuity for existing customers during the transition.
Strengthening Regional Ties
Gabriela Gabriel, president of Air Liquide Canada’s Eastern Region, said the company was pleased to welcome the Oxygène Millénair team and its customers into the Air Liquide Canada network. She noted the acquisition reinforces the company’s local footprint in Quebec and fits with its broader growth strategy, adding that combining Oxygène Millénair’s regional customer relationships with Air Liquide’s supply chain and product range positions the company to offer greater value to metal fabrication, construction and automotive customers in the Joliette area.
What the Deal Means for Local Customers
According to the companies, the acquisition builds on Oxygène Millénair’s existing relationships with businesses in the Joliette region while giving those customers expanded access to Air Liquide’s broader product offering and supply chain network. Air Liquide Canada said it is aiming for a seamless transition for customers who previously relied on Oxygène Millénair for gases and welding supplies.
