Saskatoon Fire & Flood was the standout winner at this year’s Achievement of Business Excellence Awards, taking home three honours including the top prize of Business of the Year.
The restoration company, which provides commercial and residential fire and flood recovery services along with construction, asbestos removal and mould remediation, also won the Service Award and the newly introduced Workplace Excellence Award. The Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce said the Workplace Excellence Award was being presented for the first time at this year’s gala.
The ABEX Awards have been handed out annually by the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce since 1984. This year’s ceremony took place Sept. 26 at TCU Place in Saskatoon under the theme “Luminary: For Those Who Light the Way.”
Other Award Winners Recognized
A range of businesses across the province were honoured alongside Saskatoon Fire & Flood. Boss Plumbing Ltd. received the Community Involvement Award, while JTM Business Solutions won the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Award.
In the growth categories, Dakota Dunes Resort took the Growth & Expansion Award for medium and large businesses, and Atlas York Insurance won the equivalent award for small business. STC Industrial Group was recognized with the Indigenous Business Leadership Award, and Aquifer Distribution Ltd. received the Innovation Award.
Lake Country Co-op won the Marketing Award, and TCU Place itself was honoured with the Non-Profit Impact Award. The Young Entrepreneur Award went to Amanda Kobylka and Justin Stupak of Stu’s Indoor Golf Limited.
Special Awards Also Announced
Beyond the main categories, the evening also recognized recipients of the 2026 ABEX Special Awards, which had been announced ahead of the gala. Alliance Energy Ltd. was inducted into the Saskatchewan Business Hall of Fame. Doug Emsley was named Business Leader of the Year, and Silvia Martini was recognized as Community Leader of the Year. Bruce Anderson received the Roger Phillips Chamber Builder Award.
Prabha Ramaswamy, CEO of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce, said in a news release that the ABEX Awards give the organization a chance to recognize businesses making an impact across the province. She said this year’s recipients reflect the ambition, innovation and courage continuing to drive Saskatchewan forward, and congratulated all winners, finalists and special award recipients.
